OT: What side of hair for flower?

Hi. I have a very strange question. It a couple hours my daughters are going to be in a Hawaiin pageant and I can't find what side of the hair I am suppose to put the flower in. I think I've heard before that one side is for married, and the other for unmarried. Thanks for any help! Dawn Wilson

I am sure by now you don't really need to know the answer, but for future. You put the flower on your left side if you are married and right if you are single. I hope the girls did well and had a nice time. Aloha

Thank you Linda. I called around and a friend knew someone that used to live in Hawaii and she told me the right side too. My 9 yr old daughter wone 3rd place out of 12 kids, so she did good. Tonight my 7 year old and 3 and 2 yr old boys are in it. Thank you again for responding! Hopefully next yr we can go to Hawaii for vacation! Dawn
