Need support, please :help:
Okay well i woke up and decided that i need to make a change. Its been a year since the last time i have been to this site, we had a beautiful baby boy. I thought it would be easier to jump on the band wagon of losing weight after having our son, but instead i have gain more weight.. I CANNOT live like this anymore. I decided to look into surgery, i am completly scared, and normally i do not like to admit my fears but i need to get real about this. I am a military spouse and i would like to have a support team or a friend that can help me go through this process, and would like to know if anyone who is with the military has or is going through the same thing, and what steps i should do in proceeding with this. Even if your not military please just help me out...I want to live for myself and enjoy my family i am now 350lbs.. please believe that was hard even putting those numbers up there...Support please!
Hi,
Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy. I totally understand about feeling like you can't live like this anymore. I gained 20 lbs in pregnancy and then another 30 after my son's birth. Unfortunately my son died from a birthing injury caused by a delayed c-section, so my weight gain afterwards was partly related to the grief I was experiencing. It's been 15 months since his birth and death and I feel at a cross roads in my life. I also feel like I can't go on this way and like you, I want to get real. You deserve to feel good and enjoy your son, your husband and your life.
I am not a military person but I do want to cheer you on.
I would recommend looking into finding a good surgeon and gathering as much information as you can.
All my best to you,
Teri
TY for you advice and for your response. I have been updating my profile and i did get intouch with my PCP. I recently received mail from a member giving me info to contact her so we can talk, and so i can know and share her experience. I'm not sure how much help I'll be. I haven't had the surgery yet but I've been going back and forth about it since 2001. I currently have a consult in the works and can't wait to get the ball rolling. My husband is in the Army and as I understand it Tripler would be the hospital that would handle the surgery. If you need someone to chat with I'm always here. We are stationed here and live on Schofield.
