re: visiting Hawaii
Aloha, . I'll be visiting Hawaii in April for a month. I am 1 year plus a little post WLS. I am an Obesityhelp trained Chapter Leader here in my home state of Delaware. Hopefully you can give me information so I can attend a support meeting while I'm there. I'll post my Itinerary so if there are support meetings near where I'll be I can get to one. I attend 4 meetings a month here in Delaware so I know I'm going to be in withdrawl while I'm on vacation. Especially since I won't have my PC. If no meetings I'd love to get together just to chat. Hope I can get together with some of my fellow solemates to share.
My email addy is [email protected].

Lulu, Hey thanks for the response. You have done awesome. I'm down 144 lbs. And I feel great. You have the number where I'll be. Give me a call and leave a message where I can reach you. I won't have a computer while I'm there unless I can find an internet cafe or if the hotels have rentals. LOL. I'd love to get together. We'll have a rental car so I'll be able to get around. Look forward to meeting you in the Aloha state. Elissa
Paula,
I did see that there were meetings for Dr. Lapschie's patients once a month on Friday evenings. I'll be on Maui that week. Wish I could have made it. Maybe next time. This will be my 6th or 7th visit to Hawaii. I usually come every other year. I have been to most of the Islands. The main Island of Hawaii, Kauai, Maui and Oahu. This will be my first visit there as a looser. I can't wait to do some things that I avoided doing because of being obese.
The Hawaiian boards are pretty quiet compared to the boards here in Delaware. Course Delaware is so small and now there are 3 Doctor's doing the WLS in the state. We have a pretty active support system going. Something for everyone. I'll miss it when I'm gone. I was hoping to make some new friends while I was there. Thanks for getting back to me. I really appreciate it.

Aloha, hope you enjoy your visit to Maui. I am also post op and we have a support group meeting the first Sat. morning of the month and third Friday night at the Wailuku Kaiser at 9:30am on Maui. However, it might only be open to Kaiser members. You can call Kaiser and double check. The contact number is 243-6000 and contact person is Linda Polly. Good luck and have a wonderful vacation.
Hi Mitzi. . Won't be my first visit to Maui. I have been there before and can't wait to get back. Thanks for the information. I'll call Linda when I'm on Maui. When was your surgery? How are you doing? Wasn't much info in your profile. I love reading about everyone. We all have such interesting journey's, yet we all have so mu*****ommon.

Hi Elissa, I had surgery on Jan. 10th. I am almost 3 months out. I have lost 54 pounds but am at a plateu. I am very grateful for the surgery and Kaiser paid for it. Yeahhhhhh, we have a wonderful support group on Maui and are all very close. I was thinking about posting a profile but not many people know I have had the surgery. I have kept it kind of confidential. Thanks for replying and have a wonderful vacation.
Aloha Zedrick, well it has now been seven months since surgery and I have lost 110 pounds. Most people have figured it out. I am only 12 pounds away from my goal weight. When I run into people I have not seen in awhile they are shocked. My focus is not so much being thin but being healthy. And boy do I feel healthier!!!
