confused....lapband or RNY???
Keep researching you will figure out what works for YOU. I chose lapband because I could not go through the permenant of RNY and also for me I have a hard time taking care of me I am a true work addict. With the lapband I have found that I have a little reminder to always take care of me. My highest weight was 304lbs and I am down to 266 since surgery. Good luck. Sara
Hi to all the family,
Just want to say I finally made the day april 8th and all went well. I chose the RNY. Originally was to be Dr Fowlers first lap band surgery at Castle but I backed out because of many reasons. I had followed lap band procedures for about a year or two and after 3 yrs of deciding and researching I knew I had to make a change and it had to be permanent. When I think of the vitamins I will have to take everyday its small in comparison to living with rheumatoid arthritis and taking multiple pills to be able to move or live with minimal pain. Im proud of my journey and want to say thank you to all that were a great encouragement to me and still remain so. I am journaling from the day of my surgery because I want this to be my hope chest. Its one of the biggest changes I ve ever made in my life and Im happy my mom and my daughter and all my friends from all over the world have kept me in prayers and have been great support for me during this time and am looking forward to all the endless possibilities that life has to offer . I hope I am an inspiration to anyone trying to move forward which ever procedure you choose. WE ARE ALL FAMILY NOW. Even up til the day before my surgery I was scared and was having dreams the last two days, but when Dr Fowler stepped in my preop room and I knew I had my mom and daughter by my side as well as my friends I knew I had made the right choice and it was time to move forward. Im thankful I did.......
