How can i tell that im full before im too full
Aloha Laura-
As recommended by my doctor/surgeon, I found the best thing to do was to measure/weigh my foods right from the beginning. Yes, different foods have different volumes and are tolerated differently, but I eat an amount (as recommended depending on what stage/phase you're in) that I measured out and when I am done, I am done. I still don't wait to be "full." It's like eating to be satisfied, not stuffed. Eat slowly, chew thoroughly, don't drink before or after foods. Healthy rules to live by.
By measuring, I never ate too much and never had to suffer the consequences that I heard so many have to deal with.... vomiting, pain, nausea, etc. Some people get "signs" (a hiccup, a burb, a runny nose, etc.) that tell them they are approaching "maximum capacity." For some, by the time they get their "sign" it's too late. You have to do what works for you. Just try not to abuse your new little stomach or pu****s limits.

Hi Laura,
I am about 12 weeks post op and I have agree with everything Makena wrote. Measuring keeps me honest about food portions and prevents me from over eating. Sometimes even with measuring if I feel the slightest bit full I stop eating. So far this has been working great for me, I had one incident of eating too much early on and I don't want to repeat that experience ever so I have been careful about portions.
Good luck.

Yup Laura Makena is correct. I am almost 5 months out and still measure my food. I don't use the measuring cup I use a scale. You are suppose to use the measuring cups for liquid and scale for things like chicken and jerky.
I hope to see you at the meeting tonight.
