Da keikis' wen snuggle down safe in da beds,
Big dreams of tofuti wen dance roun dere heads.
An me wit my Primo, an Ma wit her poi,
we jus settled down fo one rap, when Oh Boy!
One awful big claddah come down from da lanai,
I tink maybe coconuts wen fell from da sky.
I wen jump up so fas - I knock ova da chaih,
I wen run to da window to see what stay deah,
All ova da beach, da kine , silva moonlite...
On da sand an da sea, it shinin' so bright.
I can see all da tings on the sho' pretty cleah,
An I see someting out dere - dat stay mo plenny queeah!
One tiny surfboard lyin dere on da groun,
An eight tiny sea horses......jus swimmin aroun,
an one little ole surfah so lively, so quick, I wen tink to myself
"Ey, brah! Dat mus be Saint Nick!"
He wuz chubby an jolly, da kine roly poly........
An dress all in fur from da chin to okole.
He had one white beard, an one leetle roun belly..
Dat wen shake when he laugh, like Tutu's guava jelly!
He wastin no time brah, he wen put down da sack,
Dat wuz big as one mountain - slung up on his back.
He get plenty good tings fo all of da keiki,
An he wen pile dem unda da coconut tree.
He work an he work an he nevah pau hana.
Til he put sumting dere fo all da Ohana.
He wen give me one wink an one shaka, an pau!
Da seashorses dey know time to go now!
He wen pick up da board an he run to da ocean,
He wen harness da team an he settum in motion.
Mo fasta den jet planes da seahorses swum,
He wen whistle an shout an he call em each one;
Go Kimo, Go Nani, Gettum Kipo an Lani,
Go Kona, Go Pua, Geevum Kiki an Nani!
To da cres of da wave, To da foam an da spray,
Dey swimmin like crazy, dey flyin away!
Til all I wen see on da wata out fah,
Wuz one twinkle of light like one dyin out star.
But I hea ole Nick holla across da dark sea,
Mele Kalikimaka, da kine, Aloha Hawaii!

So glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was great, too!
I had a very quiet Christmas. The in-laws went to the Mainland to spend it with hubby's sister and her family. Our kids are stuck in Colorado and Massachusettes, so I miss them terribly. I hope we can all be together again for a Christmas... or for ANY thing. It's so hard getting everyone together once everyone has their own lives.
Nice not having to deal with drama, though! I got all my cards and packages out in time for once! I was really proud of myself! I think it's the new-found energy!
Well... time to check on our friends' kitty. I am kittysitting while they are away.
