Looking for a primary doctor...any suggestions?

I had RNY done done over 4 years ago but it wasn't on Oahu.  My current primary doctor doesn't know anything about bypass patients.  My iron labs are very very low and he doesn't seem to understand that because of the surgery, I'm not absorbing iron like a normal person.  He continues to just give me regular iron pills even though they don't work.  My ferritin is now >1 and my hemoglobin is 8.6.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a primary doctor who has experience with bypass patients or even a doctor who knows that to have iron this low is dangerous?

It really doesn't matter where on the island.  I just want to find a doctor.  Never mind my profile...it's been quite a few years since I've been on these boards.

My PCP is Dr. Samsami and he is in Kaneohe.  There might be other PCP's that are closer that you might be more interested in.  Dr. Samsami has about 15 patients that have the RNY and Lap Band.  You might even want to call Queens weight loss clinic and see what PCP's do the most referrals because the PCPs that give referrals most likely have the clients right.

Good luck.
