Attention Maui folks! Dr. Cirangle and Dr. S. Larry Schlesinger are teaming up for a symposium and support group for those thinking about weight loss surgery. How do I qualify? What are my options? Will insurance pay? Will my diabetes go away? How much weight will I lose?

For the second hour support group, we are lucky enough to have special guest speaker Dr. Schlesinger from Maui Plastic Surgery joining us. Dr.Schlesinger is an expert in post-weight loss plastic surgery. He will be sharing dramatic before and after pictures, as well as answering all of your questions!

Please join us this Friday, September 5th at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, One Cameron Way, in Kahului. For more information, please contact Nicole at (808) 561-5511 or

Nicole,
Can anyone attend? Also, will Dr. Cirangle himself be there, or does a nurse or dietitian come? Will there be a chance to cover insurance questions?

Thanks

Hello Chrissy,
Yes, everyone is welcome! Dr. Cirangle is pretty unusual for a surgeon. He does all of his seminars, consults and follow-ups. The practice doesn't have a nurse or a PA that sees patients. I think it's so crazy that that some programs don't  give you the oppurtunity to meet the surgeon from the start!

Dr. Cirangle will go over insurance questions. Also, he always makes time to speak with people privately after the meeting.

Hope to see you on Friday night!

Does Dr. Cirangle actually see patients in the outer islands, or do they have to fly to Oahu? Can the pre-op people stay for the support group part and listen/ask questions to the post-op patients? Sorry for all of the questions!

It's no problem...that's what I'm here for. You are asking the questions that other people probably want to know as well. To answer your questions, yes, he does go to the outer islands: Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. You can always come to the Oahu office if you need an excuse to go to Ala Moana!

Yes, pre-op people are not only welcome, but are encouraged to stay for the support group. You have a wonderful oppurtunity to hear how it really is from patients who are at all different stages. I think it's a great experience.

Hey HIGurl, I hope you got to go even thought you're not having your surgery with Dr. C. He offers so much information for everyone. He loves people asking questions!!! And if you have the question, there are usually others that have the SAME questions but are afraid to ask.

((hugs))

Makena is totally right!

HiGurl (and all Maui patients!)-
Dr. Cirangle is happy to help anyone! He doesn't have a big head like other doctors. He's the best, and doesn't snub those that had surgery elsewhere. It's too bad that other Hawaii surgeons don't choose to travel to the outer islands for their patients.  I hope you can make it for the next Maui meeting!
