Ever heard of...

Dr. Steven Fowler of Caste medical Center? anyone go thru him for your surgery?

I have heard of him and was referred to him by my PCP but chose not to go thru with my consultation with him as I found out that he didn't do the VSG laporascopically. 15 months later......he may have changed that though.

I just called but no answer so I left an email.  Are you going to the next meeting.  I think it is 2 wed. from now 7/16.  I still have an appointment with Dr. C. next Saturday.  I think I am coming down to my last two surgeons.  The only thing that will be my deciding will be time.  I don't want to wait 6 more months so I know Dr. C is fast but my PCP never done business with him so the referal is going to be a hard sell.  We will see.  I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow so wish me luck.

i have their number if you need it (the surgical weight loss institute)...anyway what other surgeon are u loookin at besides Dr. C?  its always good to have as much info as u can so good luck..lemme know...

I called Dr. Fowlers office that is my 2nd choice and guess what he does the lap RNY and lap VSG so now my options are getting bigger.  If I am not mistaken when I talked to the nurse in February she told me $500.00.  So I have to check this out.  I have be procrastinating for the last 6 months.  Now I am ready to jump in.  My BMI was 39.2 in February so Dr. Fowlers office said that I am not covered by HMSA so now 10 lbs heavier I qualify.  (so stupid, however those cheese cakes did taste good).  I just look at food and I gain weight.  Well I am so nervous.  I was talking to my husband and told him I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow he said about your weight stuff I told him yah the weight stuff.  He said you are not going to do it right.  I told him if the doctor thinks it is a good idea then I am.  My back has been killing me these last couple months, my ankles too.  Every morning when I get out of bed I am limping.  I feel like such a lump on the couch.  As soon as I come home I go straight to the couch and sit down with remote and watch....you got it the food network.  Love that station.  I need to get off my fat as and do something like clean my house but I have no energy and just pushing the vacuum I start to sweat.  Mind you it is hot here.  Well that is my long story.  Talk to you later. im glad u are exploring all options...dotn worry bout ur hubby..he will come around...mines had the same reaction...i think they are just afraid they will lose us or something...so just reassure him when u can and have him read any info u have on the surg...good luck!
