Are Micronesians accepted on Hawaii...

Just curious.  I spent over a year in Micronesia (Truk, Marshall Islands, Saipan).  I read an article in a Hawaiian newspaper about there being so many Micronesians on the Islands there.  They are accustomed to living in commune type situations on their islands.  Also with a very slow pace of life. The locals may not understand their culture.  Just wondering.  Brian

Hi Brian,

Yes, as you read in one of our local newspapers, Hawaii is basically a melting pot of many ethnicities. Each and every type, race, religion and culture type is accepted here. With your comment about "very slow pace of life".......that's what we are too! Our county ordinance here on Kauai states no buildings higher than 4 stories and/or no higher than the tallest coconut tree. And it's written! Although we do have one building about 10 stories, that was before this law. We are so slow here that is what makes Hawaii special. The quality of life and family closeness is great!

Keep in touch if you'd like to know more.

aloha,

michelle
