Hi Jennifer, I ive on Kauai in Hawaii. I am scheduled for my VSG March 27 with Dr. C in San Fran. He only comes to the islands for pre and post op care. I had my consultation with him earlier this month here on Kauai. I heard it costs around $17,000(my insurance is covering mine). You stay just 1 night. Have you checked the other Forum? Called Vertical Sleeve. You can find others there who have gone to Dr. C. aloha, michelle

Howdy, I had my surgery with Dr. Cirangle last August. I think you have made an excellent choice with him. Keep us updated.

Jennifer, I just had surgery by Dr. Cirangle on March 8th. Was only in the hospital overnight. Dr. C is very professional and caring. The CPMC staff were great and made me feel very calm. I am now 9 days post op and back in Hawaii. I really had a good experience in San Francisco. I stayed at the Cathedral Hill Hotel. The room is a little old but it was OK. The hotel staff were very pleasant. I slept a lot after my surgery. My friend had kept track of all my meds and gave me my shots 3 times a day. She have me the shot of heparin Sodium after I took my 2 tablespoons of Loritab which is a great pain killer. She tracked everything in a spiral notebook. I also had to pay. The surgery was $16,600.00. This doesn't include airfare & hotel stay. I also paid for my friend Renee's expenses. You get a free breakfast at the hotel daily. So who ever is going with you will be able to have at least one free meal. My incisions look great.....they're already healing. Jen, you will do fine. The first 48 hours are uncomfortable but nothing that you can't handle. I was walking down the hall ways a few times a day. The third day I walked to Walgreens. After that I walked to restaruants so that my girlfriend could eat. We went across the street to Mel's drive-in. My friend had Chicken Soup. I even asked her if I could taste the broth. It was DELICIOUS. So I asked for a cup of broth. I could only have 2 tablespoons of it. I took the rest to the hotel room and had some later. I even got the chicken soup recipe from the waitress. Good luck! You will do great! Keep in touch. Aloha/ Denise
