Visiting HI - Need Lapband doc on call

I'll be visiting Waikiki and Kailua coast in March and would like to make contact with a lapband friendly dr. in case I'd need care. I'm 18 months out and from IL and don't anticipate problems, but an emergency unfill is always a possibility (especially with long flights, low fluid consumption, etc.) Thanks for anyone's help. rex

Hi Rexann, I too have a lapband for about 2 years now. I used Dr. Lapschies, but I believe he is no longer doing bariatric surgery. I know that Dr. Fowler from Castle Hospital is doing lapband surgery. He is located in Kailua so that would be convenient for you. I've only had 1 fill and that was in July 2005. I'm considering another one, but I haven't decided for sure yet. And I haven't traveled since I got my band so I don't know how it would affect it. Anyway, when you come to Hawaii give me a call.
