I'm FINALLY under 250!! Whoo hoo!
Well, actually I just weighed myself and my current weight is 240. I can't even remember being at this weight in like ages! Seriously, I probably weighed 240 back in intermediate/high school and I'm 40 now.
Life is good and I'm continuing to truck along with the weightloss. I can't wait for my next CWMP visit with the doctors and weigh-in to show my progress. I'm so excited!
I'm actually doing something I never used to do before when food shopping...READ LABELS. I chuckled at myself when I was in Safeway shopping at 4am and realized I was reading packaging labels for ingredients, sugar, sodium, carbs, etc. NEVER USED TO DO THAT BEFORE.
I've also gave in and bought a bunch of new clothes (on sale of course!) a couple of weekends ago at Sears and Ross'...yes, I don't believe in paying full price for anything cause I'm cheap. But too many people I work with kept commenting on my clothes "just hanging" on me, so I gave in and went shopping. Had a blast trying on stuff just for the hell of it.
Anyways, hope others will check-in with the Hawaii Board and let us know your progress (or even set backs) cause you all know we're here to support each other.
Catch you all on the flip side!
Kris
Aloha Kiliki! Wow, congratulations on your weight loss! That is so excellent that you are below 250....I can't wait to join you there.
I am a bargain shopper, too. We have a Savers here on Maui and I shop there all the time. It's a great way to find low cost clothing, especially when we are going to be going through DOWN sizes for the next couple of years (I hope!). I NEVER pay full price for anything anymore. Sometimes I find $150 Hilo Hattie muus at Savers for $10.00!! You can't beat that.
Thanks so much for posting to the Hawaii board. I've almost lost contact with this forum because so few people use it. But maybe we can stage a comeback and get our people posting again. I hope so.
Aloha nui loa,

Hi Kris!!!! Congratulations on your success!!!
You are doing just awesome!!! Isn't this surgery such a blessing that we can be given a chance at a healthier life.
I wish you all the best in your continuing journey!! Keep us posted!!
As many before me have stated, I wish that more Hawaii people would post here.
I truly enjoy signing on each day. I know when I had my lap rny on January 10, 2005, it was a blessing to have the support and companionship of those who had WLS surgery who were from Hawaii. After all, that's what "OHANA" is all about!!!
Have a wonderful week and God Bless.
Hugs and aloha, Pat
Congrats on the weight loss girly!!! You are looking totallly and you definitely don't look a day over 30! I hear you totally on looking at the labels at 4 am....except I'll be in Don Quijote at 2 am doing the same thing. Oh...and raiding the dollar store. Hehehehehhe. Dunno what I'll do with my collection of pens, erasers, correction tape and plastic gift bags....but it thrills me at 2 am when I have nothing better to do.
I met with Dr. Murayama on Wednesday and I'm so close to having my surgery done. I have my letter sent in, I have my PCP's pre-authorization, I have Dr. Murayama's ok...everythings set just waiting on insurance. I'll call them next week Wednesday and bug them till they push mine through...lol. But I'll bug them nicely. *sigh* Linda (finally found out her name) told me it'll take about 2-3 weeks...I'm hoping sooner. I really want to get this done and over with and start on my way to the losers bench. I actually gained .5 pounds this month...sad times. I really have to get back on watching what I'm eating...back to protein shakes. It's so hard when you're running through down town from job to job.
Keep up the great work...you know yall are an inspiration to all of us on the "other side".
