Lol...imma keep harassing yall until someone gives in and joins me...
I understand that not everyone wants to have an active board....but imma keep posting until someone gives in and either joins in with my madness or makes me shut up...lol.
Yep...I know I'm a little crazy/off-beat/ but i dunno...I just know we can build a strong support for each other We're all going through the same/similar things and we can really really help each other out.
Sooooooo without further ado...I guess today imma ask for favorite recipes for post-ops. I found a really good (sounding) recipe for fake "Frappuccino's" for post-ops...I'll repost it.
"Reba's Fraps"
4 1/3 Frap Bottles of Water (9.5 Fl Oz)
2 1/2 Tablespoons Maxwell House Instant Coffee
15 Sweet & Low Packets
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Flavoring
1 Cup 1% or 2% Milk
1 Cup Non Fat Dry Creamer
Add the first four ingredients (Water, Coffee, Sweet & Low and Vanilla) in your metal Coffeepot. Stir and bring to a light boil (not to hot because you will be pouring into the glass bottles). Take off the stove and add your creamer while it is still hot and then add your Milk. Stir and Mix well and then pour into your clean glass bottles with lids. Put in the freezer as needed, when they a slightly frozen shake and serve.
*She reccomends getting 5 empty Starbucks Frappuccino bottles with the lids for convenience.*
I am glad to see someone posting. After my last posts, with little response, I just pop in to read. I wish I had some recipes to share, but I am not much of a cook and I am on soft foods right now. Blended soups, protein pudding and eggs. Oh and some lunch meat. And of course, I supplement with protein drinks.
But keep posting and if I come up with anything, I will share.
One of my favorites when I was first post-op (and still is!) is the crab cake recipe I got off of the recipe boards here. Its so easy and tasty.
1 - 6 oz can crab meat
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. dried parsley
1 tsp. olive oil
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
Dash of Hot Sauce (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste.
Pre heat oven to 375 degrees, mix ingredients together. Using a muffin tin spray each cup with pam and fill each cup 3/4 of the way full will crab filling. Bake 20-25 minutes or until knife comes out clean from center.
Makes 6 our size cakes. You can double the recipe if you have a family to cook for. My kids love this!!!
Maybe you might find this useful...it's a bunch of WLS drinks (protein and otherwise) because I know the same old protein drinks get old.
