New Member
Hi all, I am new to the OH Board. Although I have read many of the posts here I have not joined until today. I finally joined with the thought that my story may help others who are beginning their WLS journey the same as many of your profiles and posts have helped me.
I am currently approved and scheduled for Aug 10th with Dr. Cirangle and I will be going for the VSG. I wish you all a successful journey and look forward to communicating with you in the future.
Thanks - Joley
Welcome Joley!!! I am so glad for you that you received your approval and have a date!!
I had lap rny on January 10, 2005 with Dr. Cirangle. You are right, he is an awesome
doctor!! He is not only knowledgeable about WLS, but also really cares about his patients. I have not had any complications since my surgery, and I thank God everyday for guiding me to Dr. Cirangle. Just remember to follow his instructions and I am sure that everything will be fine. Isn't it great how he makes himself available by
his own cell phone! He is also available 24/7 by e-mail.
You have chosen I feel the "best". Please e-mail me if you would like to chat. By the
way I was born and raised in Aiea, and currently live in Kaneohe.
I have heard about the VSG procedure from Dr. Cirangle, although he was not doing this procedure when I had my lap rny done. I don't regret having the lap rny, since
I have always made it a point to follow his instructions. Till this day almost 19 months
post op I continue to vigilently watch my protein, vitamins, supplements, fluid intake,
and also am still on a very strict program as far as what I will and will not eat.
I wish you all the best!! I have an appointment on August 5, to see Dr. Cirangle at
Pali Momi.
Like yourself, I also had to pay $6,400 up front, but I would do it all over again if I had to. I also received a payment from my insurance company of $5,900.
Let's keep in touch!!
Aloha, Pat
Thanks for the support Pat. I thought I was set on the RNY and probably would have been happy with that, had I not heard more about the VSG during Dr. Cirangle's seminar. The RNY is great if you can maintain your vitamins and protein requirements.
By the way, your post regarding Dr. Cirangle helped reassure me that he was worth a second chance. Thank you.
Will you be at the seminar at Pali Momi as well? If so, I may meet you there.
Joley,
Welcome to the board! I'm glad you registered, it's wonderful to be able to read others journeys and I look forward to hearing all about yours. It's so close, I bet you're so excited! Good luck with your surgery, I hope everything goes super smooth and you come back and share with us your experience when it's over.
Lots of Aloha,
Tink
