Aloha my friends........well, I'm home!! I had surgery on Wed. at 11:30 and came home Friday afternoon. Thank heavens my son was with me and could take care of all the details...he's such a wonderful young man. I don't know how you all felt 3 days afterwards, but I'm sore and trying to get stuff down (water, protein) and not feeling like it. I need to rest...my stay in the hospital was anything but restful. I had a woman in my room who never stopped talking ... to herself!! She would talk and yell, and mumble...it was awful. Went on all night! Anyhoo..just wanted to let you know I'm home and so thankful to be on the loser's bench. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WONDERFUL MESSAGES!! With much aloha Karen

Aloha karen, so glad to hear your son was with you........As they say no pain ......No gain........Gotta be some kind of adjustment afterwards.........I'll be operated on next Wednesday 8/3/6 and will probably be home in three days as well..........Did you feel like you needed another day at the hospital?...........Are you on pain meds now?..........Everyone says popsicles are the answer because its soothing going down..............Are you wearing your "timer" or just turn it off so you can sleep? .....Ha ha ! Well kiddo you made it and it's all good....... Hugs from carol

Aloha Carol...You have been on my mind all day. I know you go over tomorrow for your pre op and then on Wed. you have surgery. I will be "with you" all the way. You will arrive at the surgicenter and be wisked away to be given your IV, asked a bunch of questions, and then "poof" you will wake up in the recovery room. I'm not kidding you.....it will seemed to go that fast. Listen to your nurses, docs and most of all your body. When you begin sipping water, you will feel like it's heaven. I sucked on those wet sponge popcicles for two days, and they kept me together. Be sure to ask for them. I'll call you tomorrow night, or Tues. night to fill you in on more of the details. Just think, next week at this time we'll both be on the loser's bench!! Yeah!! OX, Karen

YAY!!!! Oh Karen, I'm so happy everything went "routinely"... I was thinking of you, and praying it would. Hang in there, the tiredness will pass, I couldn't believe how night and day it was for me. I'm so glad your son was there for you, I'm sure he was a lifesaver. I can't imagine trying to do it on my own. WELCOME TO THE LOOSERS BENCH!! Love and hugs to you my friend, Tink

Welcome home, just focus on the fluids at first. Popsicles were great and chicken broth. work the protein in as you go. Sip, sip, sip!
