I have a date!
I will be joining the loosers bench in one month, on June 30th!! I cannot wait, I'm so excited it's unreal. Now it's time to start working out the logistics. My Dh will be coming, but I don't know if he'll come with me for pre-op or wait until the morning of... or what. And then, what to do with the kids in Honolulu all day - since he absolutely does NOT want them to see me in the hospital. Not sure EXACTLY his reasoning, but I'm okay with it, because trthfully - I would like to be the one to tell people or not - not have my kids blabbing around that mommy was in the hospital. Just makes it easier on me! lol... so... those of you in Honolulu any kids programs you know that are good during the summer? I was thinking perhaps some of the hotels will have a "kids club" or something similar? I know there's stuff in Kauai, so I'm sure there'll be quadruple the things in HNL.. just going to have to look! lol.. I'm so excited!
Yayyy...I am so excited for you Everything seems to have fallen into place for you, especially with getting the June surgery date like you wanted all along!!! I am sure if you look some of the hotels in downtown or even Waikiki would have some kids programs...probably some of the bigger name hotels. Maybe the hospital you are going to has a drop in daycare they run? Anyways, I wish you the best of luck
Hey there...again!! lol.
You can check Kamaaina Kids (they have quite a few locations around Oahu) and they usually have some kind of summer programs or field trips or something. I'm not too sure how long you were looking for or if they will just accept for one day or even how old the kiddos are...lol...but i know my son's private school always sends flyers over. If not sometimes there are day programs at the aquarium or zoo...i'll try and find the flyer and i'll email you if i do.
Excited for you about the date!!! Make sure to do a lot of shopping on Oahu for your SMALLER clothes...lol. =)
Thanks Dana! I'll call them tomorrow, and I never thought of the zoo or aquarium.
I DID however find that the YMCA daycamp is available! It's $35/day/child. BUT - I think they'd really get a kick out of the zoo or the aquarium! I never would have thought of that!! Also, if Kamaaina kids is less expensive or has better hours, that would be excellent. I'm to check in at 0530, and the Y's program doesn't start until 0630.. until 6pm. I worry that Dh might be late getting to the hospital before my surgery if he can't drop them until 630!! BUT, ya gotta do, what ya gotta do right? lol...
And thanks for the congrats.. :D
