I saw this message on another forum, and I thought I would spread it here: "Alert re: confidentiality Original Post by Blue Blurb at 8:26 PM PST on 04/08/2006 Ogden, UT I have learned the hard way that any information written here on our profiles can and will show as free for all on the internet search engines. Please spread the word to all OH members. (i know many of you already know this. I just want others to prevent what happened to me) My entire profile with all of my personal journaling showed up for anyone to read on google and every other search engine I could bring up. I was horrified my private thoughts were broadcasted for all to read. Please do not let this happen to anyone else. Do not use your full real name. Protect yourself. I made the mistake of thinking that OH would somehow protect me from this breach. Do not let this happen to anyone else. Spread the word. Protect yourselfs. Jen " I haven't searched my name yet, but I am going to!!!!!!

I am always surprised that people don't realize that most free sites that are available to the public are open to spirdering by search engines. Yahoo, myspace, etc. It's always a good idea to use an alias if you have privacy concerns on "any" free site you join. Always. (((HUGS)))
