I have been meaning to attend a meeting but keep forgetting when they are. Could someone post the schedule. I am 6 weeks post op and really need to find a support group.
Thanks
Things are going along nicely, I feel great, the weight is still coming off..slowly!! But it's coming off. I'm still low carbing, walking 40 minutes a day and am up to 150 crunches a day. I measured myself and my bust, waist and hips are already at goal, my upper arms and thighs just need to catch up! LOL
I'm so happy the surgery is behind me, the last few months with my band were pretty bad.
I'm back on top of things, looking into getting my arms "done"...if anyone knows a plastic surgeon in the Atlanta area that has experience doing brachioplasty, let me know.
I hope all of you are doing fine..I don't get on much but I think about you all often :)
Have a good night

Hi ... My PCP does not accept Medicaid but he did complete my medical necessity letter within a timely manner. I have new insurance (Cigna) and had to find a new PCP and I found Dr. Paul Ellis in my provider network directory. My initial appt. with him was on 2/8 for my complete physical which consisted of labs and EKG. We discussed my medical history; I also had my medical records with me. The next day I received a call from his PA who informed me that my lab showed I was anemic and that Dr. Ellis needed to see me back the following week. I went back and had more labs and had to be referred to a Hematologist for iron infusions. Dr. Ellis completed my medical necessity letter that same week and sent it over to my surgeon. Dr. Ellis is AWESOME and very knowledgeable about bariatric surgery and is an proponent for surgery when he feels it could be beneficial. He's with North Chattahoochee Family Physicians group in Johns Creek. Good Luck to you!!!
I attended the Support Group Meeting today at Emory Johns Creek Hospital and really enjoyed the meeting! Everyone was VERY nice and very open about their experience. I actually did have questions and they were quickly answered. The group was very supportive and gave what I felt to be as very honest answers about what to expect. I was very happy to meet people that had their surgeries by my doctor and got the chance to meet people that are scheduled to have their surgeries with my doctor. I definitely see myself participating in the group sessions post-op! So very happy I was able to attend.
Anyone know any doctors who does arm surgery after weight loss and also who takes Medicaid?
