MayPenGirl, hi...I don't know of any personal trainers in the area yet as I want to lose some weight prior to getting with a trainer but wanted to reach out because I too live in the S.W. Atlanta area...maybe we could be of some moral support to each other.
My husband and I are looking at getting bariatric surgery. I am trying to figure who to go to (where you don't feel like a number), but it seems like all the surgeons are on the North Side of Atlanta, and we live on the South Side. I would like to be to particpate in a group setting too, to help after, if we do go though this.

By now we have all heard the AMA has classified obesity as a disease. Well, local news personality Brenda Wood took it upon herself to add to the constant fat shaming we, and other people like us experience. I have included the links to her comments, and please post on 11alive's fb page, or send emails regarding this issue. She needs to know what she said is very off base, ignorant, in accurate and just strait up condescending. Please support our community
I went with Atlanta bariatrics. Dr. Christopher Hart is my surgeon. So far I have been very pleased with him and his office. My procedure will be done at Emory in Johns Creek. It is a designed to be a bariatric facility. Good Luck!
I wanted to know if anyone in the Atlanta area has a personal trainer they could recommend. I work in Downtown but live in Southwest Atlanta so I have a wide area that I can travel to. I’m looking for a trainer anywhere in the Buckhead to Jonesboro area.
