I have a question concerning he revision. I had an RNY and was wondering exactly what are the requirements for the revision if you have Medicaid.

If you don't mind the drive, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Paul Macik or Dr. John Daley here in Atlanta! They are both "top - notch" docs. and they both work out of Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs and other hospitals as well!
Good luck with your revision!

I used Dr. Hart which works out of the same office with Dr. Johnson but he's the medical director there with a lot more experience. My insurance paid for it and the only out of pocket cost I remember was meeting with the nutritionist and any co-pays. I also had the sleeve. I think Dr. Johnson does a lot of bypass surgeries from what I hear at group. I never used protein shots I was only allowed shakes by bariatric advantage after surgery. Dr. Hart was amazing but I don't know much about Dr. Johnson other than people wanted him cause he was young and "hot" but that is NO reason to pick a doctor...I prefer experience and an older doctor.

I had Dr. Hart and LOVED HIM! I didn't go to the pearls class...to me its pointless! the hospital is small and you can't get lost! No reason to tour the bariatric wing you will see it soon enough....group is better because you can ask questions and talk to fellow patients of Dr. Harts. My bf  and I both go to group (Jimbo) there...we will be there Wednesday and Saturday feel free to contact either of us if you need anything.

Although this is a older post, I am glad I scrolled a few pages back! I haven't seen Dr Hart's name much on this site and was starting to get a little nervous...I am scheduled for surgery with him on Nov 5. I wish I could go to the support group this month but I signed up for a extra shift before consulting the calendar. I am going next month (October) to the "pearls" class which meets at the same time. Did  you go to the pearls class or the support group. It will be my only opportunity to attend one pre op. Thanks for posting it is great to read positive things about that support group. I am starting to reconcile myself to planning on making the very long drive up there as I can't seem to find a support group on the southside.

Do you have a surgery date in mind?

In my opinion the support group is very helpful..."pearls" class is a tour of the hospital and what to expect the day of surgery...but if it were ME?  I would rather talk to and hear first hand experiences of patients post op in the support group

This is major surgery, so there is pain. The good news is that it doesn't last forever! Take the time to recover. It gets better every day.

Dr. Wesley Turton in LaGrange is the best! I am 1 week after surgery. A nurse or dietitian has called me every day! They provide great support. They have a group that meets monthly for after surgery.

I highly recommend dr. Turton and West Georgia Medical.
