LaShelle,

You are so funny, LOL! You certainly don't look CRACKISH, lol! You are doing a great job.

Denise,

I am waiting for the day that I can chase my baby around without huffing and puffing. I know it is coming soon but I am trying to remain calm and not too excited. Good luck to your friend! Is that the beautiful blond lady that came to the clothes swap with you?

Morgans if you are vegeterian and not eating very much and at your current weight, I definitely would see a specialist to rule out any underlying causes for your obesity.

The more you state you are a healthy eater, the more I am convinced there is something else going on, either you're in denial or a medical problem???

"As for any food issues I might have, I am mostly vegetarian bordering on vegan. Have you seen Food, Inc.? I am very conscious about what I eat and I'm extremely aware of where my food comes from."

"I've been the same weight for at least 5 years now, gym or no gym, salads or more salads."

Girlfriend, you did not get that big eating salads  and staying in the gym... just didn't happen! ...   (unless they were loaded with bacon, eggs, cheese, and full fat dressing :-)

If you do have some type of medical abnormality, even wls may not be as effective for you.

Also consider some wls procedures especially rny and DS will require you to have a pretty high protein intake.  If you and your doctor decide wls is right for you, consider a procedure like vsg which is not malabsorbtive and will not require as much protein.   If you do not eat meat, a high protein diet will be a challenge.

I appreciate your honesty La Shelle. I'm 44 and trust me - I've been there, done that.

I am here to research and learn. I'm pretty sure no surgeon would do WLS on me if they felt for any reason I was not a good candidate. I know that this is not easy surgery, and I am not researching it just because I want to be a size 10.

But I am certainly not going to wish for any co-morbidities to justify WLS for myself.

As for any food issues I might have, I am mostly vegetarian bordering on vegan. Have you seen Food, Inc.? I am very conscious about what I eat and I'm extremely aware of where my food comes from. I'm not perfect but I am hardly fooling myself about portion sizes of Doritos - I don't eat them.

Was I like this my whole life? Of course not, although I've never been "thin" since before puberty. Now that the weight is here, it appears here to stay. I've been the same weight for at least 5 years now, gym or no gym, salads or more salads.

Topic: PAY IT FORWARD GA!!!
I saw this on Fb and I think it is a GREAT idea! Doesn't matter what u do............just do something! Even the smallest gesture can make a difference in someone's life!!!

David's 2nd Annual
Pay It Forward Day
December 1st, 2010

‘Tis the Season! A random act of kindness goes a long way so…

PAY IT FORWARD!!!

What can you do?
ON DEC. 1st...
• Pay for someone’s cup of coffee…
• Buy someone some groceries…
• Get the next person’s gas…
• Help someone out…
• Donate something…
• Be creative!!!

When you do something for someone there’s a good chance they’ll do something for someone else. If not, at least you’ve done a good deed for someone.

So on December 1st share some kindness and spread some joy! It can be as little as a few dollars or as much as you want. No one needs to know!

Join me, won’t you?

(I'm trying to make this a national event so spread the word. Maybe one day it'll be a nationally recognized day!)

I won't be offended if you don't decide to participate, but please... spread the word!
