I'm from Glennville and I am going back and forth to Augusta to see DR. Glass. I am thinking of getting the sleeve but the Rny still sounds good too. I am afraid this is the hardest decision I have ever made and its not getting any easier as both sides have so much to offer.
Hey,
Wonder if you haven't had your surgery by now?! Hoping all went well. Keep me updated. Looks like this forum has kind of died. I am in Fayetteville; I go to a support group meeting in Peachtree City. Are you nearby?
Unfortunately once people get comfy they drop off like flies. I am guilty as well. I peruse OH when I have time. I need to post more. Where are you from Roxy? I'm in Fayetteville, GA. Had the Sleeve in 2011; still struggling. Would love to do a meet up! We have a support group in Peachtree City. Are you nearby?
I'd love too but too far away. Want to come to Ocala FL we need one here too.

Is anyone interested in starting a support group in the East Gwinnett/Walton County area?
I also have Amerigroup through Medicaid I called yesterday and they said that they do cover the surgery but my PCP must say that it is medically necessary. I called my PCP and he said that it is offfice policy not to recommend anyone for weight loss surgery. So now I have to find a new PCP. Does anyone know of a PCP near McDonough that does recommend weight loss surgery?

I am celebrating my 4th year as a normal weight person. I had the gastric bypass in 2009. It took about 14 months to lose 135 pounds. I now weigh 135, so I am exactly 1/2 the woman I used to be! The only real health issue I have experienced is an internal hernia that was the result of the WLS. That occurred last April. I can eat about a cup full now and that scares me to no end as I am so afraid of regaining weight. I have issues with reactive hypoglycemia so I really have to be mindful of carbohydrates.(probably a good thing) I take lots of vitamins all day long. I have had my arms done, my upper eyelids, and lower jaw skin tightened. People told me I looked 70 right after the weight loss. At the time I was 51. That was depressing. The plastic surgery helped and now I look more my age. All in all, I would do it again in a heart beat.
