I'm in hell.
I just started my two week liquid diet... my surgery is May 19th. I am absolutely miserable! I am so hungry that I have been getting nauseous and gagging... and I have a horrible headache. I've had well over 70 g of protein in shakes... but I'm starving and miserable. The headache got so bad that I took a percocet and felt better... but now it's coming back.
It's not a sinus headache... it's definitely from being hungry. I'm just miserable. I guess I'm posting for advice or encouragement... or for someone to tell me to stop whining and suck it up. LOL
Whatcha got for me?
Carol,
Stick with it. Your body will adjust. It's going to take some time. Try going for walks or just sitting outside and enjoying the day to take your mind off your hunger. Drink tons and tons of water to try and keep your stomach full. I had the same thing happen to me when I had to do my liquid portion. Just keep telling yourself, it's only for a few more days and at the end of this, you'll be getting your new best friend the band. You can do this. We're all here to support you and get you through it.
Hi Carol....
Try to keep your spirits up, and know that it'll be over with soon enough. I only had to do liquids for 2 days and it nearly killed me with the hungar headache, so I know how you must be feeling.
Do you just have to have clear liquids, or can you do full liquids??? If you can have full liquids, you can do pudding and milkshakes as well as cream soups. I'd say to stick with sugar free, or no sugar added, but I found that if I could do full liquids and get a bit of substance that atleast the hungar headache would go away.
Keep your chin up.... it'll be over soon, and will be soooo worth it in the end.
Hugs,
Susan
Hang in there. Have you tried using crushed ice and whipping into a milkshake (using the protien drink not milk) or into a slushy.
Have you stopped coffee? If so the headache will go away with time.
It will all be over soon, just think positive. You can do it. A small price for a new lease on life. We are cheering for you
You are having withdrawal from sugar and caffein, this is common and will get better the farther along you go. It is bad I know, but your body is cleaning it self of toxsins. And make sure you are getting your 64oz. of water a day, too. This helps speed up the cleaning process. And if you have to up your protein to 100grams a day..the more weight we carry the more protein is required to keep our organs healthy.
Good luck and God bless.
Hugs,
Lynda
