Marty, I couldn't take wellbutrin xl afterwards, it gagged me. I tried to take it whole and crushed. They actually switched me to prozac-liquid form. It taste like crap, but its better than having my mirgraines and anxiety attacks. I do know some people who are still on it and they don't have a problem. Lea Lewis ObesityHelp Support Group Leader

Marty, XL is for extended release, you will have to take regular wellbutrin. I was on effexor xr (extended release) before surgery and had to switch to regular effexor. Hope this helps. Melissa 241.5/169/??
