Need Some Suggestions
I don't know if anyone saw my post yesterday on the main messageboard. My surgery is scheduled for April 6th and I just wanted some suggestions as to what preparations to make before I went in. What supplies will I need when I come home? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Since we cannot drive after surgery, I want to prepare and not depend on my husband to have to get anything for me at the store. Thanks a lot!!!
Hi- Just to let you know the way I was after surgery---I didn't want SQUAT! I got my hubby at the time time get some shaved ice from the college nearby, and I ate some Kroger-brand s.f. popcicles ( the 2tone ones with lemonade are the best). At night I would drink just a bit of broth and after a few days, I tried protein shakes--quite minimal--and found that they stayed down better if I shook them and drank them after the foam died down rather than blending...that darn foam would make me icky in a heartbeat.....Just follow what the doc says and take it really really slow to begin with....I'm amazed, looking back over the past 10 months----I never had a regret as far as surgery goes---I've not really been hungry yet---maybe just a bit--- and I can eat just about anything I want in limited quantities---(very limited quantities) ---I'm down about 135-140 lbs---putting me at about 140-145 after a short 10 months.(below my goal weight) My BMI is around 23 now I believe---on the low end of normal and I've gone from a 22-24 pants to a 7 Jr.---tops were XXL or XXXL and are now Medium (8-10). Of course I've got skin that I cant wait to get rid of....but that will come in time--Hopefully this summer or soonafter....I'm not trying to lose anymore weight, but it seems to continue coming off slowly. Good luck with your surgery!!! I know you'll do great!
