Surgical Redos
Susan,
My wife, Julie, had a VBG in November 2000. She had a lot of the problems associated with VBGs and the problems just kept getting worse. One of the problems was that she couldn't eat any protein without being violently ill for hours.
After I had my RNY August 2003, we realized that even though she wasn't eating the wrong things or eating too fast or anything else like that, she couldn't eat protein and other solid foods like a RNY post-op.
February 2005, Dr. Edward Lin at Emory performed a revision from a VBG to RNY for Julie. The transformation has been miraculous. She can eat protein now like we are supposed to eat. Her nails and hair have improved noticeably and she is much healthier and happier.
Dr. Daly performed my RNY and I think the world of him.
Julie and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Lin for how he helped her when many other doctors chose not to because of the risks, etc.
I highly recommend Dr. Edward Lin (404.778.5673) to anyone considering a revision. He has performed a lot of successful revisions and I believe his experience is invaluable.

Unfortunately, you will have to deal with Emory Bariatrics office staff, bureaucracy and procedures to get to Dr. Lin. However, it is well worth the trouble.
You can call Emory Bariatrics at 404.778.7777 or 1.800.75.EMORY (1.800.753.6679).
