Dr. Stephen Odom & United Healthcare

Has anyone had Dr. Stephen Odom as your surgeon? If so, how long did it take you to get a surgery date? I am attending his seminar on April 18 and then can get a appointment with him. My insurance is United Healthcare. My policy covers the weight loss surgery, providing it is medically required, which is a given. I know there is a lot of documentation that will have to be done to submit to the insurance company. Does anyone know of a support group that meets in Cobb County? I had the surgery about 24 years ago...back when they didn't know they needed to have support groups and when they were just beginning the surgery. I lost 90 lbs. but gained it back and then some. Three years ago I went thru a lot of tests, etc. to move towards having the surgery, based on another insurance I had, only to be told at the end that my policy had a provision that didn't cover it.
