Hello, I went through Emory for the surgery. Had Dr. Lin, he did the surgery on 7/05/05. I had a good experience with them, their admin has a lot to be desired, however that was small potatoes, I was more concerned about the surgeon and his abilities then the front office. I called them shortly after the seminar to get the ball rolling. I went to the seminar in February 2005...was not a long wait. Call them.

I didnot have a long wait either after the seminar I probadly would have lost my mind if they told me I had to go on a waiting list to get into their seminar. I called right after Thanksgiving 2005 and I was able to attend the December 2005 which was the 1st week in December but they did hold onto my paper work for two weeks before submitting it to the insurance company that was really frustrating then the insurance company needed some additional information and it took them 45 days to send it to them I thought that was a bit outrageous I really dont have a problem with the doctor it is that admin staff makes me want to choke the blankity blank out of them.

I musy have drove them crazy, I got in to an argument with Constance and reported her to Dr. Lin, she never bothered me again, she got lucky that I couldnt find the CEO or president of Emory's email address because he was going to get an ear full too. Ed was a great doc, I went to a few other seminars for a couple of other docs, and was not impressed, they were arrogant, where the Emory docs were really down to earth, and the program that they have set up is really great, when you get the appt for the pre-op testing, it is a day of hell, but well worth it they check everything under the sun and then some, keep calling them and if you dont get anywhere with Constance, Betsy, or Laquita(or what ever their names are) ask to speak to a supervisor. Keep me posted would like to know how things work out for you. Hugs Erica

I thought it was me but Constance does act like she has an attitude doesn't she? I wrote a seven page letter to the hospital advocate I am sick to death of them I tried not to call but I see if you don't stay on them they will ignore you tomorrow when they open I will call every five minutes if I dont have an answer. I still have to do my nutrition class I hope I can do everything at one time.

Girl...Emory was who my PCP originally referred me to, but I had already picked Obesity Solutions in Gainesville (Not so far from L'ville...I'm in Duluth) and I got in very expediently and I could not LOVE Dr. Richard more... HIGHLY recommend Dr. Robert Richard. Tami

I used Emory Bariatrics, and although you do have a hard time getting anywhere with Constance, I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Khaitan. I was also told I would have to wait for the seminar, I, however, chose to email Dr. Khaitan directly. She got back to me within 24 hrs. and told me that she would make sure I was in the next seminar and I was. Every surgeon you work with will have pros and cons. This is a very personal decision. I think you will find you get varying opinions, so go with your own gut instincts and your research. Tonya Waters
