Hi everyone, Need a little help from my fellow Georgians. Husband & I are taking a 3 day weekend off this week. Anybody know of a good place to visit (road trip) ....... maybe a dinner cruise/boat ride or some kind of show . Something kinda laid back, we're resting so don't want anything too busy, active or strenuous ....... I guess what we want is quiet fun. Guess I will post this on the state boards that border Georgia too. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Howdy Stranger! Ohhh, what I wouldn't give for a long weekend with my honey One of the most relaxing, fun places I have ever been is Stone Mountain Park. You can stroll the shops and the the old fashioned paddle wheel boat was awesome at sunset. We took the train to the top of the mountain and of course enjoyed the firework show at the end of the night. This might be more of a day trip for you if you live close. We've also done Helen GA for a 3 day trip. That was awesome. We stayed in a condo and visited around all the the surrounding cities. VERY relaxing countryside. Theres an old running mill and Cabbage Patch babies are born up there! There is also Callaway Gardens, with a drive through safari park right near by (the name eludes me right now but I can get it to you if you are interested). The animal park is GREAT, GREAT fun! We rent one of their vans and drive through the park, all the animals come up right to you windows (and, umm... drool!) I came so close to the giraffe, or I should say he came so close to me, we could've kissed! What an experience! We go at once a year. Have fun what ever you decide, and post and let us know how it goes! Barb

Howdy back at cha Barb, Now, you and I like the same things. I love, love, love Callaway Gardens and more specifically the animal safari. We went this summer and again this past December. The close contact with the animals is the greatest. Helen is nice, I hear that it has grown so much now. When I was there last they didn't even have a McDonald's or KFC so you can imagine how long ago that was. (don't eat that junk now anyway) It might be nice to go again. I live in the Stone Mtn. area. I love it there....the old fashion shops and the entire little village surrounding the mountain are so nice. It is great there but we have gone so often that it wouldn't seem like much of a get away. Thanks for the help girlfriend, I am going to consider Helen.

Hey Ann, You wouldn't happen to have the website or tele # for the cabins in the Smokies would you? 3.5 hours isn't bad at all. Just thinking about the views there ........ ahhhhh.....gotta be beautiful. Thanks.
