Walk From Obesity" VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

American Society of Bariatric Surgeons - ASBS Foundation "Walk From Obesity" is a national event to increase awareness of morbid obesity as a medical condition. The Walk from Obesity is on September 30, 2006. Hundreds of people all over America will participate in this event to support research and education for new effective solutions for this condition. We are in the process of possibly heading up a walk here in Atlanta, but I wanted to see if I had any volunteers to help us with this. Let me know if you are interested. Below is more information regarding the walk: Whether you walk or run, whether you or someone you know have had the Bariatric surgery or you want to show support in the advancements of Bariatrics, now you have the chance to show your support! Come join hundreds across America. Obesity is a growing concern and ASBS is having a 5 K Walk/Run in many locations around the US. There will have refreshments and entertainment where the Walk starts. There are many ways to participate: 1) Register online to walk/run. Find sponsors to support your participation.. 2) Can't walk, but want to help * send us a check to Walk From Obesity * Atlanta. If your employer has a matching gift program, mention the employer to double your giving power. 3) Know of sponsors who would like to support this cause? See if they can support us through a financial contribution or a gift-in-kind. 4) Own your company * you can be a sponsor. 5) Recruit friends to walk as a team. If you cannot be a corporate sponsor, sponsor a team. HISTORY of "WALK FROM OBESITY - ATLANTA, GEORGIA" The first annual Walk from Obesity was on September 20, 2003 hundreds of people all over America participated in this event to support research and education for new, effective solutions for this condition. The event was held at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The supporters walked, jogged or ran. All were welcomed whether they had the surgery or want to support someone who has been through it, now you have the chance to show your support join us for this years annual "Walk from Obesity - Atlanta" and show your support!
