Dr. Steinburg of Surgical Weight Management does not require you to lose weight, but they do require 6 months of trying a supervised weight loss program (like the card you get from Weigh****chers...) The other paperwork and testings usually take about 6 months so you can do the diet while waiting for the other tests. I hope this helps you. Thanks Carol, I am gonna call the office today sometime so wish me luck, I do understand now about having to loose the weight and that many docs have a waiting period but you see, I dont think I have six months, I am so sick now that I am almost bedbound, I can barely get up to go to the bathroom. I am in constant pain. I will try him though, and see, right now, with all the brick walls I am hitting I am beginning to think that it would be easier to just die, and not have to go through all this stuff that is required of a person. I want to recommend that you talk to Amy Williams. She is an administrator on OH. She was over 600 lbs before her surgery. She was wheelchair bound as well. I think she may be able to help you. I wish you the best of luck. www.amylhwilliams.com She can be contacted though her email on the website.
