new to Georgia and homesick

hey ya'll..I'm new to Georgia..well.....relatively new..moved here last August. I had started this journey out in Texas with a surgeon there but my husband was transfered here..so here I am too ! I have everything going with Dr Champion at Atlanta Bariatric,sent my paperwork in ,deposit for surgery and the money for the insurance letter...now I wait. But this is sooooo different from the way they did things back in Texas,I was just wondering if any of ya'll used Dr Champion and could tell me what to expect next. I am diabatic,so my primary doc has me going to diabetes education at the hospital where I work and they are working with me on a diet and nutrition plan,but all of Dr Champion's paperwork suggests that you have to use his dietician and that pretty much sucks since I have been working with this one since Dec and my ins requires that you have a documented,supervised diet for 6 months..I'm wondering if I will have to start all over with Dr Champion's dietician or if they can get my recods from where I am going and go from there..I'm so confused can anybody help me out ?

Hey Katherine, welcome to Georgia...Call and see if they will transfer your info. so you don't have to start all over. I don't know to much about Dr. Champion, but I did some research on him, and found out that he had practice an another starte before here...I am having mine done in Brunswick, by Dr. Henderson...nice man..and his staff is great too. Welcome to Georgia. I would think you could just ask your Dr's office in Texas to forward your records. I think I have heard of Dr. Champion. Does he do surgery at Emory Dunwoody?

Welcome to GA...I just moved here from Austin, TX in October...I miss TX but GA is great...email me if you ever want to do anything or chat....we can console one another Good luck with surgery...I had surgery in Dallas, TX with Dr. Rodriguez....I miss him and still need to get with a surgeon here....for follow up... Welcome to Georgia! I don't know anything about Dr. Champion but thouhgt I'd tell you about our Ga Board Gatherings that we have monthly! The great gang from this message board gets together for lunch or dinner once a month to show each other love and support.
