Okie post ops...am I the only one who bruises really easy...esp on my legs??? Or am I just nuts.....and have nothing to worry about? I will be 11 months on the 23rd..and was wondering if this was normal because of the malnutrition part of our life. Any info would be appreciated. D'Lynn 232/137/130

I have always been one that bruises easily - but had noticed after surgery that it became even easier for the ugly black and blue marks to show up. My doctor said it was an indication of a few possible things - low iron (anemia), low b12, or another more serious situation that he wouldn't go into(???). He did my blood work and sure enough it was my b12. Get your bloodwork done and have them check these things..... I have noticed a vas improvement in the last bit since I had to increase my B12 intake! Dee Dee

Thanks Dee Dee....I am taking a B12 shot about every 6 weeks, maybe i need to move it up to 3 weeks or even everyother week and see if that helps. I was thinking it might just be this stupid boney prominences that have developed in my lower extremities.....sorry....had a little fat to thin humor. D'Lynn

D'Lynn, I agree with DeeDee. I several friends that had problems with bruising and it turned out it was their B-12. Once they started regular injections that bruising went away. Are you taking B-12 regularly? I highly recommend taking the shots. I take two shots a month. Hugs, Tonya

Thanks Tonya, I appreciate the response. I will up my B12 shots to every other week or every 3 weeks since I have been doing it every 6 weeks right now. How is married life going? D'Lynn

My daughter bruises easily and I started to just a year after GBS. We both take alfalfa or chlorophyll supplements. They have helped wonderfully! And is a natural way to help with anemia. Of course check with your Dr first. Jen
