I am experiencing acid reflux (or so I think) since I had surgery. I keep throwing up and it is clear (once the tummy is empty I guess) to yellow and it burns and I get dizzy and today I fell. I can take Priolesec and it sometimes clears up..... What can be causing this and is it normal?

I would go see my doctor and have him/her give you an evaluation. I had problems with acid reflux before surgery and after surgery and may time we think it is one thing and it ends up being something else. Remember you have altered your body in a major way and you don't want to take any chances guessing what might be wrong with you. Just got to the doctor. Hope you feel better. Vanessa

my Dr. said that they bypass the part of your stomach that makes you have acid reflux, I haven't had it since my surgery. Tammy

Kristie, I know I am not popular on here for saying the same thing to everyone..but if you have a problem like this - you call a doctor or go to the ER- you do not post it as a question like you would post a recipe. What one person has is different than what another person has. This surgery - the RNY is supposed to completely obliterate acid reflux immediately because you no longer have the opening of your stomach up there by your breast bone- it is now lower down. So- whatever it is it is more than likeky not acid reflux and if I knew what it was- I'd be a gastroenterologist...lol. Seriously- Call your doctor and ask..let them do an endoscopy if necessary. Always always got othem with an urgent problem..and come here to discuss it or warn others aftr you know you are ok. Good luck Edyth
