I know some people re-fi their homes....some people have a savings or 401 K that they can get the $$ from. I think the cost varies from doctor and hospital (etc) I wish I could help more! Dee Dee (No dashes...LOL)

Dee-Dee, I was a self pay patient...I had considered having one surgeon do my surgery (not my surgeon) and his self pay price was $23,500 +/-, but he also required some med clearances...pulmonologist, cardiologist, gall bladder ultrasound, and upper GI. These clearances were about $1,500 +/- additional. My surgeon's self pay price was $23,650 +/-, and did not require any med clearances. The self pay price includes the surgeon's fee, assistant surgeon, hospital, and anesthesiologist. I had the $$ saved up for everything but the hospital, and I was willing to finance that through my charge card. Hope that this info helps you. Good luck in your journey. Norma
