GETTING FRUSTRATED

Well, as you may have seen from my posts, I need a hysterectomy and am trying to get approved for a TT at the same time. Also trying for a BL with augmentation approval, but the PS said he would not do that at the same time as the other two surgeries... Too much for my body to handle. Anyway, I have been trying to get approval since 12/22.... As of this morning, the insurance company still does not have all the documentation they need... First, the insurance person at the doctor's did not get my file. She found it and submitted it finally on 1/9. Then insurance did not get it. I followed up with insurance and they gave me a number to have the doctor's office fax it too... Then they did not receive the fax ! Finally received the fax last Thursday. Friday insurance told my Dr's office that they need original pictures, so those were mailed to them on Friday afternoon. (They had been mailed once already, and faxed twice) As of this morning, they cannot confirm that they received them ! Believe it or not, I don;'t even care that my lost ugly naked pictures (both fax and print) are floating around and someone is probably pretty amused looking at them. I have been dealing with a nurse at the insurance company that will handle my pre-cert, and she has asked me to wait until Friday to follow up again, I guess I am being just a little too persistent. She did tell me that it will only take 20-48 hours for approval after the file is complete. My Insurance approved me in one day for the RNY, so I hope they are as good with this issue as well. I hope when the nurse finally gets my pictures she will feel sorry for me and just approve the darn thing. Now I am worried that it will take forever to get the PS and the GYN to coordinate a surgery date, after and IF I get approved. I fear that my tummy will not be "bad enough" to warrant surgery approval, and I have waited all this time for my GYN surgery for nothing ! Gosh...and with my second in command at work going out on FMLA for maternity leave in about 2 months, I am STRESSING BADLY !! I was hoping to have this done and be back at work before she goes out. I am about to say the heck with the PS and just do the hyserectomy, but I could not afford the time off of work, to take a second leave for a TT, so I will bear with it a few more days ! Please pray for me that they get their acts together soon, and that I am APPROVED !!!

Maureen, I just wanted to wish you luck in getting it all approved. I know it can be frustrating. I still remember anxieties and frustration when I had my "WLS file" to complete to get it approved. Do you know criteria Insurance uses for approval/disapproval of TT/BL.? Do things have to hang "down enough".....or does it have more to do with skin rash etc.? I'm not in PS phase/mood yet and now think that the whole cosmetic effect of losing weight is more like icing on the cake, but maybe in a few months my preception/opinion will change.. Anyway, I hope your worries and frustration are all going to be paid at the end by approval and successefull PS. hugs, Rita

Thanks Rita They have everything now that they say they need to make a decision so I will hopefully know by Monday. I am not sure of their requirements. I have asked but they just told me to have the surgeon submit the file. I too, never thought I would want PS..but considering I have to get my tummy cut anyway, I thought I would try and get this done as well. Especially after seeing some of the results from others on this board. But if I do not get approved, it will not happen, and life will go on. I think I am trying to find that 18 year old inside my 47 year old body
