Feeling Tired and Dizzy
Alright...I need some advice. Over the past few days, I have been feeling very strange. I have felt very light-headed and dizzy. And, I feel VERY sleepy. This is new to me. Since I have lost 110 pounds, I haven't felt like taking a nap too often. Friday at work, I could have slept at anytime. Also, I feel like my balance is off. I don't feel bad otherwise. I just feel kind of spacy...does that make sense? I didn't take vitamins last week...I was out. But, I have been taking them since Thursday....they are new vitamins...maybe it is something in them. I doubt it though. And, I know I need more protein...could that be it? I still can't tolerate the shakes. I'm trying to get 50g a day from food...sometimes I make that and go over and sometimes I don't. I just thought I would see if any of you have experienced this before.

Yeah, i get a b12 shot every month...I got one this week. I guess it is just a combination of things like Judy mentioned. I guess I'm just going to have to choke down some protein drinks.
I tried to do it from food, but I guess I'm just not getting enough. I keep thinking it will go away, but it isn't.

I thought we could meet for lunch one day next week and catch up since you nor I made the last get together. Let me know. I will try to combine with my client that is in your area, I need to meet with them too so I can just drop by if you do not have time for lunch.
I bet it is a combination of things, not enough protein or nutrition. I did have a few days around the 4th month where I had these same symptoms and it was partly due to the fact that I tried to go off my protein drink and get my protein with foods (this is during the time when I thought the protein drinks were causing my liver levels to be elavated). So it has to be your overall nutrition. Did you ever find a protein drink you could tolerate? We cannot afford to not get in all of the nutrition we need our body and brains will all suffer and can be permanant damage.
What vitiamins did you swtich to?
I have been getting tired since we started the long hours at work and I know I am not getting enough water but I am working on improving this. I will be interested to see what my blood work shows next month as far as my nutrition levels since I have gone off the chewable vitamins now and am swallowing all my vitamins (wonder if absorption is a good). I give myself a b12 shot 2 times a month.

Hello, my friend. I did get your message, but we have been VERY busy too....so, I haven't had a chance to write you back.
Lunch sounds like a GREAT idea. I'm going to just suck it up and drink the protein. I can handle things a bit more. I just don't think I'm getting what I need from the food....big surprise.
I'll give it a few days of upping my protein, and if it isn't better, I'll call my doctor.
I started eating those vitamins you gave me. They aren't too bad...the aftertaste is the worst, but the taste is pretty good.
Do you get your nutrition levels checked every month? So, you get 2ccs of B12 a month? I'm doing 1cc once a month.
The first day I noticed this, I did drink some milk and eat some peanut butter. That made me feel better. Today, I drank some isopure, ate some cheese....and some pintos and cheese from taco bell. I think Im going to see about making a shake.

The B-12 is not the only vitamin that can cause problems with WLS patients, you can have side effects from low B-1, and they can turn into serious problems if not corrected. They have just recently found this out with in the past 2 months. So please also have your B-1 checked and take a multi B suppliment to help with both.

Thank you, Lynda. I feel better this afternoon just from upping my protein. I'll definitely monitor and if I'm not better in a few days, I'll call the doctor. I managed to get down 30g total in protein supplements today. And, I have eaten high protein foods. I'm planning on drinking 2 shakes tomorrow...so, that will be 40g in supplements tomorrow. I think I have been very cavalier about taking my supplements and paying attention to what I'm eating and drinking. My body won't let me keep doing that.
I thought that too, but I don't think that is what it is. I actually feel like I have take cold medicine or even a narcotic of some kind...just kind of spacey. I don't have a headache or any pain...and, I feel good otherwise. But, I'll watch it....I'm planning on going to the doctor this week if I don't feel much better by Wednesday.
