Jake's word of the week!

I really want to thank all of you who have been praying for my Jake to start talking. It really touched my heart and almost made me cry when I read your responses. And best of all...we have a new word!!! My 6 y/o, Jeremy, came running into the bedroom yelling " Mom! Jake has got the fish!!!". Well first, I'm trying to determine what fish we are talking about...the box of goldfish crackers....or the betta fish in the bowls on the kitchen counter??? Yep! The little bugger pulled a chair over to the counter and had his hands in the betta bowls trying to catch the fish. Well, I said " No Jakie! No touch the fishy!!!". He turned his sweet little face to me and was so happy and proud. So I repeated myself and he answered "fishy". I was soooo torn!!! I was estatic over the word and wanted him to be happy, but common sense had to prevail. I had to move the fish which made him have a tantrum. The fish now live on a high shelf on the entertainment center. Jakie still holds out his little hand, points, and says "fishy". I just hope he doesn't figure out how to get a chair in there! Keep Praying for Jake!!!! (Oh, and you might to pray for those poor traumatized fish too! )

Well, I said it would be great to hear him say mommy, but I guess fishy will do for now. I'm glad to hear some positive news on Jake and I'm glad to hear the fish are okat as well. You are still in my thoughts and prayers. Ken
