question about full liquids?
Can I eat oatmeal? I bought some of the new weight smart oatmeal that is low in sugar and has alot of protein in it and I didn't know if and when I could start eating it. Also has anyone tried Cream Of Wheat? What are the best full liqiuds to start out with. Sorry if this was too many questions for one post.
In the paperwork that I have for Dr.Duncan's office, oatmeal is considered a pureed-soft food (stage II), which is the next stage. I just ended the full liquid stage, boy did it get boring. Other people may tell you that they had it at this stage. I didn't attend the nutritional class for Peachtree Surgical so they may have more info then what I was given at the office. Take Care, Susan
I would recomend no oatmeal yet.
Full liquids are milk, milk based protein shakes, pudding, cream soups. thinned mashed potatoes. At 3 weeks I was allowed to start baby food and cottage cheese.
Of course, this is only what my doc recomended and what I followed.
Keep up your good work Renee! You're gonna do great!
