Exercise Information
Okay - I did get a good response of people who are interested in the information I can give you about things you can do around your house for some exercise ideas. I'm formatting the information with some research so I can give thorough details.
This is not "OFFICIAL" workout information and as a legal disclaimer - I am a certified GROUP FITNESS instructor and individual results are not guranteed. PLEASE if you are worried wether or not your doctor would allow you to exercise PLEASE PLEASE check with them first. If any of you have specific adjustmensts you need for you e-mail me PRIVATELY at [email protected] and I will give you my ideas. I am not promising results for any of you - I'm just giving ideas of things that can help you.
I do understand that going to the gym is not an option for all of us - and I do know it is not a mandatory part of this surgery.....but it is certainly clear by many results of physicians and exercise psysiologists that exercise and a proper diet will aide in weight loss.
I hope to have my first bit of information ready to post later this afternoon. If any of you have any requests or are looking for a "specific" body part let me know so I can make sure to include all the information that you want!
Thanks for the wonderful response!!

Dee Dee:
If you will post some exercise that might be beneficial for the bat wings we develop and the wrinkles we get above our knees. I walked on the tread mill this morning at an incline of 10.5 and at a speed of 3.3 for 45 mins. I also worked with weights. I was wondering if we eat more protein while we work the muscles, will see the results we are looking for. Like protein before the work out and protein after the workout. Thank you for your beneficial informaiton.

Mary,
Unfortunately the "Bat wings" and the "elephant knees" are NOT muscle related. This is excess skin that we have been carrying around and with the rapid weight loss there is no way to help "reduce" that area. I can give information on how to sculpt the Triceps and things for the legs - but this will not reduce the skin issue.
The only way to help with the skins elasticity is to make sure you're drinking PLENTY of water and possibly when you reach your goal weight you will want to visit a plastic surgeon and have it removed for asthetics. Once skin is stretched and you have broken the skins fibers (stretch marks) then you have lost elasticity in the skin and more often than not it will not return to the "tight" skin that "skinny" people have.
Hope this helps. I will be posting my first bit of information in a short while. Make sure to look for it and let me know if it helps you any!

Dee, I've been smothering in work for several weeks and haven't had a chance to get to the board. Today I thought, after work...I'm checking on these Ga. folks to see what's up and found your post about exercising. I'm printing it out to read and hopefully begin later! I've put this off long enough, plus I'm stressed to the max and need something to help! Thanks for taking so much of your time to help others. Continued success in all your endeavors. I'm down 140 lbs.
