update on me
I seem to be ajusting pretty well. The only thing that I have found I can tolerate is sugar free popsicles, half/half apple juice, Ice chips and water.........Chrystal light is a NO NO
at this point. I tried beef broth because I was craving salt, and it is nasty to me now. I am tolerateing liquids very good. only thing I'm having a problem with are my norvasc (small pill) and effexor (small pill), even tho they are small they are getting hung in my throat, so I started yesterdat halfing them and taking them 1/2 45 minutes apart. All I do it eat, drink, take meds, and sleep, lol
My walking is going good. I walk down my street every morning, and yesterday David and I went to Lowes and wal-mart, and instead of getting back in t he car at lowes, I just walked up to wal-mart which was the next shopping center over. (I think I might have over done it) Can we over due walking? I am feeling a dull burn in 2 of my incisions, my mother in law says it's the nerves coming back to life, is that possible? I called and left a message yesterday with the nurse but haven't gotten a call back yet, so I'm going to call again this a.m. Oh and this morning I get to take my bandages of and take a shower, WOOHOO
Hugs,
Melissa

Congratulations on finally having your surgery! You'll be tired at first so it's pretty easy to over do anything. I would avoid apple juice if I were you - it's a lot of sugar...and it's going to be better for your success if you don't consume sugar or starchy stuff. I was told that by my doctor and I know that not all drs say the same stuff, I promise you that you will lose more weight and feel better if you stick to protein as much as possible. (I know that's impossible right now, but I'd avoid the juices.)
I'm here for you girl!
Hugs!
