OT - I HAVE BREAST CANCER!!!!
WHAT A TOTAL BUMMER! I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE ELSE WHO IS DEALING WITH OR WHO BEAT BREAST CANCER BEFORE OR AFTER HAVING WLS! MY LUMPECTOMY IS SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 4TH. I'M NOT REALLY FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF -- IN FACT, I FEEL REALLY LUCKY! IF IT WERE NOT FOR HAVING WLS AND LOSING 132 LBS THUS FAR, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE NEVER GONE FOR MY FIRST MAMMAGRAM! AT 39, I WAS SHOCKED TO HERE THAT I HAVE BREAST CANCER! IT DOES RUN ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE OF THE FAMILY AND MY MOTHER IS A SURVIVOR HERSELF. BUT SHE WAS 64 WHEN SHE WAS DIAGNOSED SO I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT THAT I HAD YEARS BEFORE I MIGHT BE DIAGNOSED! SILLY ME! ANYWAY, THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR MUCH NEEDED SUPPORT!!!!
PEACE AND LOVE
CHERYL G.
Cheryl, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know what it is like to think you have years before it could happen. My maternal aunt and grandmother both had breast cancer. My aunt died in her 30's. My mother is in her late 50's and so far so good for her. But, I know I have to be vigilant and keep a check on things.
I know you will find the support and strength you need. We're to help any way we can.
ohhhh, Cheryl.... what a hard thing to go through...(WLS or not)....I hope very soon that it will be behind you, and you will be able to share sigh of relief with us as it sounds like they caught it early. I'm glad you only talk about lumpectomy, I think it's a good sign. I wish you the best of luck in beating this dreaded disease with the least possible pain and emotional suffering. Best wishes and hugs to you, Rita.
OH Cheryl,
I am VERY sorry to hear this. I WISH I knew what to say. Keep your upbeat attitude and thank God for the weight loss that directed you towards this mammagram.
Cheryl, I pray for a complete healing for you. You have come SOOO far, and it's only right you be able to COMPLETE this journey you have taken on!
God Bless you and if we can be of any help, please don't think twice about coming on and asking for it!

Hello Cheryl:
I am so sorry to hear this news but you are in my thoughts and prayers. I see you at Dr. Macik's office with your Mom and at support group meetings when I go. I will be thinking of you and praying that this will be short and you will come away cancer free. You are young and will recover from this. You have done very good on your weight loss. Good luck
Mary
