Need help with vitamins
I am getting my surgery date next Friday, Oct. 7th and I need to start getting my vitamins. I have read that many of you take Optisource from Walgreens.com. I would like to get those for my multi-vitamin, but I am hearing some different things from other people and I want to find out what other supplements I need to take with them. If possible could you reccomend a brand, where to get them ( I was hoping to get some at GNC because of the gold card special ), and what dosage? I have read that some people take only 4 optisource a day and no other supplements. Thanks for any info, Susan
Susan,
I myself went to GNC and bought the GNC Multi Chewable Solotron, B12 1000mg sublingual, Solaray Calcium citrate chewable (1000mg, but we are going to need 1500, so instead of chewing 4 you have to do 6, URGHHHH)and I also got Biotin (for possible hair loss) I got 600mg and I'm taking 2 per day. I'm going to say I don't recommend the Multi chewable Solotron because it only has 5mg of Iron and they told me yesterday we need 15mg if no monthly and 30mg with a monthly. The GNC cost me $59 for the above..........I may try Optisource when I take what I have. Hope this helps.

On this I see that if we take 4, we are getting 30mg of Iron, 300mcg biotin (which I would by Wal-mart brand to get the excess) Calcium 1000mg(you need 1500)and B12 500mcg(which I would also do another 500mcg by Rexall at wal-mart)

I take 2 chewable kids vitamins a day (I'm currently using the CVS brand that's like Flinstone's w/iron). I also take sublingual B12 about 3 times a week, and viactiv calcium chews (at least 2 a day).
I had my labs done a couple of months ago and everything was fine. Just don't take iron & calcium at the same time - they fight for absorption.
Good luck!!
