Robin Hi! I am now 11 months out and for the first 3 months I had to give myself a month vitamin b-12 2xtimes a month shots. Then after 3 months I now give myself vitamin b12 shots once a month as well as take Centrum Liguid vitamins. You need to call your doctor & see what their protocol is. No wonder you're feeling so tired & drained. Hope this helped.

My doc gives me one b-12 shot a month. Been taking it since day one so I cannot say what it is like without. I suggest it, personally. Kia 5'9" 284/187/155

Hi Robin, I just started my B-12 shots last month. My B-12 levels were still in the normal range, but I was feeling just too worn out all of the time. My B-12 level 1 month post-op was still above normal high average, and it has dropped dramtically. After my 1st shot last month, I really didn't notice a difference, but after the shot this month, I am feeling better now. I took the sublingual B-12 for about 4 months, and NEVER could tell any difference. I finally called my surgeons office, and they called in an order for me to my pharmacy. I bring mine to work, and have one of our nurses give me my shot. I guess if need be, I could do it myself, but I just don't like the idea of sticking myself. Hugs, Susan
