New Girl in Big City :help:

Hi my name is Stephanie, and I had started the process of weight loss surgery in New Hampshire( where Im from). Was almost there and then husband took new job and lost insurance....We now are living in College Park GA, dont really know the area or doctors...driving to some of these places (peachtree bariatics ) looks very intimadating. Would love to chat with other hopefuls or been there done that! Please Help

Hi Stephanie, I myself, am still going through the process. I have completed my PCP clearance, my psych eval, and have had my consult with my surgeon (Dr. Celio Burrowes). Next up for me is Nutritional Consult. I have lived in the Atlanta area for about 6 years now. I'm not too familiar with the College Park area, but if there is anything I am able to do to help, don't hesitate to ask. Welcome to the ATL!!

Welcome to south. you might want to check out Dr. Appel in Decatur. He isn't that far from College Park. The name of his practice is Surgical Weight Management, 2665 North Decatur Rd. Suite 350, Decatur, Ga. 30033, 404-419-9439. www.lapband-atlanta.com. I am in the middle of the process myself. I have finished all my Dr's visits(paych,dietician, PCP, etc.), I go to see the surgen Tuesday morning. What kind of work does your husband do that would bring ya'll to the great state of Georgia? Hey Ken just wanted to post a quick "you are SO almost there now" - time will fly by after your surgeon visit - they will take before picts then you go home and they call you like a week later with your date! Kia 5'9" 284/192/155

I live in Riverdale which isn't far from College Park - I work in COllege Park....so I'm familiar with that area as well. I am an Atlanta native..... Dee Dee, I didn't even realize you are in Riverdale. Our first apartment was in Riverdale, from there we went to a townhouse in Morrow and finally bought a home here in Silver Creek (about 4 miles south of Rome) I just LOVE being back in the South after being held 'captive' by my first marriage up north so long. No regrets about it, LOL, other than I gave birth to two Yankees, LOL Also just realized your surgery date is day after my bellybutton birthday Huggs ~~ Lisa

Stephanie, Can't really help you on the doctor front, I had my surgery in Ohio before we moved here to Georgia. I really just want to say Welcome! and I am glad you are here. My husband is an Aircraft Mechanic as well, and I know all to well about the moves! We are from Arizona originally. Would love to chat sometime! Oh, by the way, where is College Park?
