Susan are you taking Biotin, if not go purchase it, it will help with the hair loss, you can get it at your local wal-mart. Also try to up your protein a little if possible, I know lack of protein will cause this as well. If nothing but a little at a time it WILL help. Hugs, Melissa

Susan, I started loosing hair at 4 mths out and continued to loose lots of hair until about my I yr anniversary. It has just recently stopped despite all my efforts to slow it down. I just cam eto realize that it's just one of the side effects of having this surgery. Continue to do all your supplements, get in your protein and use hair volumizer. If your hair is longer, you may consider getting it cut in a shorter style that has some layering to it. Good Luck, Tonya

Tonya, you are scaring me...)...I don't have much to loose to start with....I call my hair chicken fur as is.....I really don't need to loose it... but I know it's just a minor side effect of WLS, and supposedly it does grow back..... doesn't it? hugs, Rita

Susan, Zinc is supposed to help work with the biotin. Also, at beauty supply stores (like Sally's) they sell a shampoo with biotin in it. It is supposed to help. The way it was explained to me is that biotin tightens the hair folicles and makes it less likely that the hair will fall out -- it doesn't help with hair growth. My nutritionist said that it is best to start using these products pre-op. I have started the biotin but nothing else yet. I know this doesn't help you but it might help some newbies out there. Cris
