ok i have spent the whole morning trying to find dr's to do the clearances for this surgery and all i have accomplished is giving myself a headache. Do you actually have to see a pulmonary and cardiologist to have clearance or can you have your PCP do this? also anyone in or near Gainesville do any of you have suggestions on where i can get a nutritional consult at? Being up here in the mountains is proving to be a pain today the closest thing i can find is a dr who does hypnosis. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

My surgeon send us to the specialist, we have two days of testing at Emory Dunwoody where all of the specialist are all in one place. (Pulmonary testing, upper GI, stress test, etc.) Have you been to see a surgeon? It also depends on what your insurance and surgeon requires from you. Emily Brady Dr. Hart May 25, 2005 -18 lbs.

Hi Sandra, My PCP started to do my cardio clearance but when I flunked my stress test he had to refer me to a cardio for clearance. He didn't have the machine to do puliminary clearance so I had to see one of those too. I had to find my own psych $330.00 and nutritionist $80.00. A lady named Katrina, who posts on this board said she had her nutrition counseling over the phone so try and send her a note and ask her about it. You'll find some posts from her by scrolling down. Good Luck sweetie, I know all the hoops you have to jump through can be nerve racking. Barb
