Stress and WLS (VERY LONG)
Hey, Ya'll,
After reading several recent posts, I am starting to wonder if the fact that my tummy is smaller now makes it easier for stress and bugs to affect me. I have caught about four bugs this year. I am going through the typical May blues since school is almost over. The house thing is also on my mind. We sign the contract tomorrow for the new one...still have three to sell, and we are not financial geniuses to say the least. My mother-in-law, who I dearly love, will be moving in with us (me) for the rest of her life... because of health issues. DH is having to spend the night with her four days at a time because she can't navigate our house. Plus, my son still "thinks" he has a 3.0, but wonders if he is passing his second college English class. (He made an A in the first one. I really want to kick his behind or at least tear him up verbally...but I haven't...yet. Prayers for his protection appreciated!) I have thrown up at least three times in the last few days. The AP "kindly" made me go home today because she thinks I have a bug again. (My parapro must have squealed.) I am now eating healthier and taking more vitamins...seems twisted. Does anyone else have this kind of thing with stress? The "throwing up" thing is new. BTW, When I am not nauseous, I feel great physically.
Will this get better? I would greatly appreciate your prayers right now. I want to be well enough to enjoy my kiddos for the 17 days we have left together, and I really want to be a calm, wise, and loving mother and wife. Right now, I just want to sleep...not very productive.
Thanks for allowing me to rant!
Love ya'
Becky
Gosh---I soooo hope this is just a phase- I've been so sick the past couple of years I didn't think it would get WORSE. I was hoping surgery would improve my health. I'll be praying for you. What grade do you teach? I teach pre-K and they like to hug and luv on me- so i get LOTS of icky stuff.....
See ya
Lisa
HI, Lisa, I teach kindergarten, and I have given 40 kiddos the Dibels test over the last two days. It's one on one, so I could have easily caught a bug. I hope it's a phase too, and I bet it's not the norm. Don't worry! I really think it may be the "house" and "momma" stuff! I always go through the May blues, but the "nausea" part is new. Of course, we have lived in the same house for 28 years...that's probably most of it.
Hugs,
Becky
Awww sweetie,
I just want you to know you are in my prayers. Hope you are feeling better very soon!
I know stress affects me alot like what you described being preop. But I can't help on the after WLS questions... not yet anyway
I am sure with everything you have going on right now it has to be a contributing factor.
Please remember to take care of YOU!!
God's Blessings.
Love, Barb

Becky,
Sweetie kids are the biggest germ carriers there ever were! I know you love your kiddos - but seriously having had the surgery can change your immune system. You'd think with all the vitamins we're on we'd be more resistant - but what my health books tell me we're not. That's mostly because the natural enzymes we need to fight off bugs are found in the meats and foods we eat. Since we can't eat as much we don't have as many enzymes it takes to fight off colds. (There have been some NASTY flu bugs go on in my house this past winter and I didn't get sick even once!!!!)
(Steppin on my exercise soap box)
If you exercise it helps to release endorpines in the body that DO help to increase the natural enzymes. I've gotten my first allergy attack since surgery and honestly it's probably one of the lightest one's I've ever encountered as I'm able to control it with just ONE tylenol sinus at a time!
I know exercise isn't a real possiblity for everyone....but 30 minutes every other day of any form of exercise (walking, step class, elliptical machine, going up and down stairs - ny thing YOUR BODY can handle) will be the biggest difference you can do for yourself! (stepping off my soap box to go to step class
)
I'm sorry about the Throwing up......I've been doing that since day one so I don't know what to tell you. Mine has gotten a great deal better.....but I still have to watch very carefully what I eat!!!
Much
Dee Dee

Dee Dee, I know you are right. I have definitely been lagging in the exercise area. The last time I exercised was during the 70s American Idol show the other night (two weeks ago!). Does dancing with kinders for about five minutes each morning count? You ARE my inspiration. Could you come over here, and get my behind up and moving?
I love you!
