Shree, I am so happy that you are home!!!! Well, it's officiall, you have finally gotten what you so needed. I hope that this changes your life like it has changed mine. I wish you all the best! As far as the gas, it's a killer, and for me, pain pills didn't really help it. Walking does seem to get things moving, but then you get sore from walking too much! Aahh....memories.....Just hang in, you should get to feeling better soon! Cathy

There you are! I called your hospital...didnt' get you. I think maybe you had checked out already. Sorry I didnt' catch you before that--but once I got home, I was sorta zonked for a full 24 hours! The gas is the worst, isn't it? Mine is finally starting to subside some...but MAN--the pains stop me in my tracks sometimes! I've tried walking-but the most relief I've found was in a porch swing. Yep--I swung and swung-and rocked slightly back and forth while I did--it felt soooo good. I think a rocking chair could have the same effect for me, but I don't have one anymore! Best of luck--let's keep in touch! Michelle

Shree, I am so glad that your surgery went well, maybe the gas pains will go away real soon. My surgery is Monday morning. I have to be at the hospital at 6:00a.m. I am suppose to be the first one. Were you nervous a couple days before? I have so many things going through my head, but I am staying busy getting my house cleaned before surgery. If you don't mind me asking what were some of the things you ate the day of bowel prep? My Dr. said clear liquids only. I was just wondering if I could have the broth from veg. soup (campbell's) ? Keep up the good work. Tammy Gunter

Thanks everyone for your help and support. The gas IS getting a little better today...sent out for some Gas X Chewables so maybe that will help *lol*. THEN on top of everything...along comes the monthly (sorry guys) *sigh*. Tammy, I ate a regular meal for breakfast and then a regular light lunch...I think I had a Grilled Chicken Salad and then could have only clear liquids after 4pm. I would be careful about eating the broth from the vegetable soup...just in case you miss a small piece. You might want to get some chicken or beef broth instead. I ate very little that day but drank LOTS of water because I knew I would be dehydrated for a few days. Plus the more water you drink the easier the bowel prep is. Good luck on Monday...where will you be? Shree

Oh, Shree!!!! It is great to hear from you!!!! The third day WAS the worst for me. The pain meds helped me sleep. Are you taking them? As for the gas, think about the fact that you will not be feeling it in a week, and that may encourage you a little. This too shall pass!!! Sorry, I couldn't resist. After my first "real" restroom visit, I felt better. Take it easy, Shree. Walking does help me...but it always has. Hugs, Becky

I haven't had surgery yet, but my husband did. He didn't have too hard of a time with gas, but we did get some baby mylicon. Have you tried that? It sounds like you are doing great! Welcome home, and take care of yourself.
